Apostille Services:

Global Document Solutions

An apostille is an important process used for simplifying the international recognition of documents. This certification is issued by an authoritative figure of a country and serves as a verification of the authenticity of various documents. The apostille confirms that the signature, seal, or stamp on the document is legitimate and can be accepted in foreign jurisdictions.

The concept of apostille was established by the Hague Convention of 1961, an international treaty that streamlined the process of validating documents for international use. Today, the apostille ensures that documents from one member country of the Hague Convention are seamlessly accepted in another member country, sparing individuals and organizations with bureaucratic hurdles.

When you need to use legal documents in different countries, notarization often goes hand-in-hand with the apostille process. This notarization step adds an extra layer of credibility to the document, making it even more likely to be accepted when you seek an apostille for international recognition. Together, notarization and apostille services help individuals and organizations navigate the complexities of international document authentication.

The Notary Public does not give legal advice, complete documents, or verify that the documents are true or legally binding. The New Jersey Notary Public only verifies the person’s identity.

What does a Notary Public charge?

The pricing of a Notary Publics service is at their discretion. The fees vary based on distance travelled, and number of signatures notarized. The state mandates a maximum fee per signature which all Notary Public’s abide by, however, they do not mandate what the maximum is that can be charged for other fees.

Can a Notary Public refuse to help me?

Absolutely not. If a Notary Public is presented with proper identification, documents, and a request by the member of the public, they may not refuse to provide their services unless they are unable to complete the notarization because the document is not filled out, or ID is not presented, etc. If a paying customer makes the proper request, the Notary shall provide service.

Is a Notary Public a Notario Publico?

No! The english version of Notary Public is as described above, a Notary Public in New Jersey is not the same as Notario Publico, and translation of Notary Public to Notario Publico is prohibited.
